Tertiary education in Canada is governed by regional organisms depending on the jurisdiction so there is no unified national system that rules the whole country. Each of Canada’s ten provinces and three territories uses every mean to maintain a qualified, established, and innovative tertiary education system offered to national and international prospective students. 

​For foreign nationals, a Canadian study permit must be acquired in order to study in Canada. Specific conditions are indicated in your visa and must be followed for the entire duration of your studies.
