Australia, Canada ranks high in 2021 global survey of study destinations

In a global ranking released February 10 by CEOWORLD Magazine, all three of our study destinations ranked high in this year's World's Best Countries for International Students. Australia ranked second (#2) to the United States, Canada at #4 trailing behind France, and New Zealand at #12. 

The ranking is an annual perception-based global survey of university students, industrialists, academic educational professionals, assistant professors, associate professors, adjunct professors, university professors, visiting professors, global business executives, and education policy experts. The survey was conducted between December 12, 2020, and January 20, 2021, gathering over 185,200 replies. 

CEOWORLD ranks the countries based on "equally-weighted indicators" which are:

1. education system
2. access to higher-quality teaching
3. number of research institutions
4. university funding and endowment
5. specialization expertise
6. industrial linkage
7. institutional output by research
8. higher education institutions
9. government expenditure on education total
10. student visa
11. post-study work visa credentials

Below is the top 15 ranking and their scores based on the above criteria.

1. The United States – with 71.78 scores
2. Australia – with 68.04 scores
3. The United Kingdom – with 67.16 scores
4. Canada – with 66.39 scores
5. France – with 66.06 scores
6. Germany – with 65.27 scores
7. Switzerland – with 64.14 scores
8. Japan – with 63.2 scores 
9. Russia -with 61.3 scores
10. China – with 60.97 scores
11. Netherlands - with 60.66
12. New Zealand - with 60.25
